Seaboard Marine Launches Fastest Direct Service from Colombia to U.S. Northeast with New Weekly Calls to Gloucester

June 10, 2025

Seaboard Marine is proud to introduce a significant enhancement to its North Atlantic service, delivering the fastest transit time of any ocean carrier from Colombia to the U.S. Northeast. Beginning Thursday, June 26, 2025, Seaboard Marine will offer direct weekly sailings from Santa Marta, Colombia, arriving every Monday at the Gloucester Marine Terminal.

This direct service marks a significant advancement in transit speed and service reliability, cutting days off traditional shipping schedules and opening the door for faster transits of Colombian exports to one of the United States’ most important consumer markets. The improved service also includes continued access from Cartagena and Barranquilla, giving exporters throughout Colombia broader options for reaching the U.S. Northeast with greater efficiency.

Located in the Philadelphia area, the Gloucester Marine Terminal offers extensive refrigerated and dry storage, along with seamless highway and rail connectivity. Thus, allowing cargo, especially perishable goods, to move quickly inland to key destinations.

Highlights of this service upgrade include:

  • Unmatched transit speed: Fastest ocean route from Santa Marta to the U.S. Northeast, 5-day transit time
  • Weekly direct service from Santa Marta to both Gloucester Marine Terminal and the Red Hook Terminal in Brooklyn, New York
  • Monday arrivals to Gloucester for early-week distribution and faster market access
  • Expanded capacity to support Colombia’s fresh produce and refrigerated goods sectors
  • Reliable cold chain performance for temperature-sensitive commodities
  • Additional coverage from Cartagena and Barranquilla
