Launching Marlins rookies presented by adt to introduce baseball and softball game to local youth

MIAMI – As part of the Miami Marlins commitment to grow the game and provide access to South Florida kids, the Miami Marlins Foundation has teamed with ADT to launch the Marlins Rookies program at the Marlins Youth Academy in partnership with the City of Hialeah at Babcock Park.

The Marlins Rookies program presented by ADT is designed for our youngest fans interested in learning the fundamentals or honing their basic knowledge of baseball or softball. For just $40, athletes are provided full uniforms, gloves, and a dedicated coaching staff focused on fostering the love for the game. Parents can register their kids for the Marlins Rookies program today at Marlins.com/Babcock.

“We are excited to continue our efforts to provide access to and grow the game we love with the introduction of the Marlins Rookies program at the Marlins Youth Academy,” said Sarah Martin, Marlins Youth Academy Senior Director. “This will be a great way to introduce the basics of baseball and softball while helping shape our future all-stars for success on and off the field. We’re happy to have ADT join us for this new venture, as they share our commitment to the South Florida community.”

“We’re proud to partner with the Marlins to create a safe place for South Florida kids to play baseball and have fun with their loved ones,” said DeLu Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at ADT. “We look forward to continuing our partnership and delivering on our shared commitment to positively impacting the community.”

The program launches on September 5, 2023, with practices three times a week. Marlins Rookies teaches children how to play the game of baseball (ages 5-12) and softball (ages 7-12) through instructional lessons, as well as encourages positive youth development of social and emotional competencies. This program curriculum focuses on the basic skill development of baseball and softball that includes fielding, hitting, throwing and game situations that are aligned to character development lessons through Jackie Robinson’s nine values.

The Marlins-ADT partnership showcases the organizations’ shared commitment in creating safe spaces for our community. The two organizations have teamed together on this impactful program that provides resources for youth to stay active and have fun in a safe environment.

Earlier this year, the Miami Marlins Foundation and City of Hialeah celebrated the establishment of Babcock Park as the headquarters for the Marlins Youth Academy programming. Nearly 14,000 kids across South Florida have enrolled in Marlins youth baseball and softball programming.
