Tallahassee, Fla., November 26, 2023 – Today, just one day before Thanksgiving, Florida Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. announced November’s chosen books for the Commissioner’s Book of the Month, a monthly reading challenge to promote literacy and reading engagement in preK-12 schools. Each month, Commissioner Diaz highlights five recommended books – one per selected grade range.
“The November book recommendations will provide students an opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving and recognize the important contributions the first Americans made,” said Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. “Through this month’s selections, students will develop a deeper understanding of what makes our nation great.”
The Commissioner’s recommendations for November 2023 are:
- PreK – Thankful Thanksgiving by Deb Adamson
