TAINAN, Taiwan–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau and the curatorial team at Honey Home International Limited joined hands with the well-known food and wine brand, WHISKY TIMEOUT, to hold the “2023 Tainan International Food and Wine Carnival & Tainan Cocktail Festival” at The Spring in Tainan from Oct. 21 to 22. This year’s event showcased celebrated chefs and international master bartenders, alongside a lineup of over 200 food and beverage brands, drawing a crowd of more than 60,000 participants.
Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-Che stated that Tainan is not only vibrant during the day, but also exudes a captivating charm at night. The city government has been dedicated to promoting tourism in Tainan. The 2023 edition was even spearheading a global trend, pushing Tainan’s culinary and wine culture internationally. This year, the celebration coincided with the National Athletic Games, providing an opportunity to see competitions, savor specialty drinks, and taste delicious food. The mayor truly hoped that everyone leaves with full satisfaction.
Mayor Huang also mentioned that despite crowd control measures in place, the festival still managed to attract many visitors. Through the collaborative efforts of various units such as the Police Department, Bureau of Transportation, and Tourism Bureau, visitor safety, smooth traffic flow, reduced noise, and improved cleanliness were ensured. He thanked visitors and locals for their cooperation and anticipates a better “Tainan’s 400th Anniversary” festival next year.
Director-General Lin Kuo-Hua from the Tourism Bureau of Tainan City expressed that since its inception, the Tainan International Food and Wine Carnival has aroused a sensation in the culinary scene, with cities across the country eager to emulate. However, the distinctive local brands and diverse culinary offerings in Tainan have firmly established their prominence in the Asian food and wine industry.
Director-General Lin added that this year’s event successfully attracted numerous renowned imported wine brands and international master bartenders, while top local bars and skilled Taiwanese artisans also garnered to join the ranks. With over 60,000 participants, the 2023 edition stood as Asia’s largest culinary extravaganza. He thanked all guests and the public for their support and looks forward to meeting them again next year.
