Feliz first Dominican councilor ratified in Bronx

Bronx, NY. April 13, 2021.- The New York City Board of Elections finished his recount of the special election on March 23 for the position of councilman for the 15th district of the Bronx in substitution of the position left vacant by now Congressman Ritchie Torres, awarding tenant attorney Oswald Feliz an immigrant from Santiago de los Caballeros. Happy, he led the final result with 1,766 votes over Ischia Bravo who obtained 1,362 votes, achieving a winning margin of 404 votes in his favor.

The young lawyer achieved a historic triumph for the majority Dominican community in the Bronx, defeating all sectors that supported the other opponents with greater economic capacity. The work of door to door Oswald Feliz together with the support of Congressman Adriano Espaillat’s political team, the volunteers, his office team and all the other sectors of the diaspora of the 15th district, gave the victory to the lawyer of the tenants in the 15th district of the Bronx .
