NYC & Company, the official tourism organization of New York, expects a new visitor record. Already in 2018, the destination had its ninth consecutive year of registering visitors, with 65.1 million tourists, 13.6 million of them foreigners.
Looking to 2019, it is expected to receive 66.9 million visitors, representing a growth of 2.8% compared to 2018 data.
Of this number, 53 million will be domestic travelers and 13.9 million foreigners.
“We have a monumental year in New York with many premieres after the registration of visits in 2018. Our expectations are high, even with possible economic and political variations. The city is number one in the United States in international visitors, tourism spending and economic impact. Many people know Manhattan, but there is much more to do in other districts, ”said New York’s tourist market development director, Lisa Tejeda.
