Univision Beats Telemundo for 26th Consecutive Season in Primetime, Finishing as No. 1 Spanish-Language Network Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Univision finished the 2017/2018 season as the No. 1 Spanish-language network Monday through Sunday in primetime, outperforming Telemundo for the 26th consecutive season with 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 605,000 Adults 18-49 and 259,000 Adults 18-34.
Last week, Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) every single night among Adults 18-34 and on four out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.
Univision edged out Telemundo as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the fourth consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+.
Univision ranked as the No. 5 broadcast network for the entire week in primetime, out-delivering ABC and CW with 239,000 Adults 18-34 and finished ahead of CW with 545,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+.
Averaging more than half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, “El Rico y Lázaro” (608,000) and “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” (589,000) outperformed first-run episodes of ABC’s “Castaways;” and CBS’ “Salvation,” as well as CW’s “Burden of Truth” and “Masters of Illusion.” “El Rico y Lázaro” also made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the Monday through Friday 8pm hour for the 48th consecutive week with an audience advantage of +15% over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+.
For the second consecutive week, Univision surpassed ABC (+26% adv.) and CBS (+8% adv.) by double-digit margins during the weeknight 10pm hour among Adults 18-34 with “La Piloto II,” which delivered 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 438,000 Adults 18-49 and 179,000 Adults 18-34.
Saturday night’s three hour airing of “Rosa De Guadalupe” delivered an average audience of 972,000 Total Viewers 2+, 368,000 Adults 18-49 and 164,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision as the No. 3 broadcast network for the entire night, ahead of CBS and NBC among Adults 18-34. The dramatic series also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the second straight Saturday night, out-delivering Telemundo by +96% among Total Viewers 2+, +74% among Adults 18-49 and +98% among Adults 18-34.
On Sunday night, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+30% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+23% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+28% adv.).
The two-hour premiere of the eleventh installment of “Nuestra Belleza Latina” attracted 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 750,000 Adults 18-49 and 374,000 Adults 18-34. The talent competition series also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+46% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+31% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+45% adv.) than Telemundo’s three-hour airing of “Exatlón Estados Unidos.”
“Aquí y Ahora” increased its audience from the previous airing by double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+16% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+25% to 552,000) and Adults 18-34 (+38% to 274,000), marking the third consecutive week of audience growth.
“Crónicas” delivered week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+16% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+28% to 685,000) and Adults 18-34 (+63% to 310,000). Head-to-head in the 10pm hour, “Crónicas” outperformed Telemundo’s “Don Francisco Te Invita” by +23% among Total Viewers 2+, +33% among Adults 18-49 and +14% among Adults 18-34 in the last six consecutive Sundays.
