WHO: Miami Seaquarium
WHAT: After being closed for 36 days due to the effects of Hurricane Irma, Miami Seaquarium is pleased to announce it will re-open on Friday, October 13, 2017. The park will host a press preview day for members of the media prior to the park opening to the public. Members of the media are invited to tour the park with key administrators and get a glimpse of the park’s clean-up efforts and its work to restore the park.
As the park celebrates its next 62 years, it welcomes back South Florida with a series of discount offers and events:
- Re-opening Special – To aid hurricane relief efforts, all guests who visit during the month of October can purchase online tickets for $24.99 plus tax. Miami Seaquarium will make a donation of $5 per ticket to the American Red Cross, a non-profit organization that continues to work around the clock to help people affected by the most recent catastrophic natural disasters: Hurricane Harvey in Texas, Hurricane Irma in Florida, Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and earthquake in Mexico City.
- Free Admission for First Responders/ Power & Utility Workers/ Military – beginning October 13 – November 12, all first responders, military personnel and electric company workers will receive free admission with proper identification, plus a discount for up to four guests at 50 percent off of regular admission.
- Florida Residents Reopening Special on Animal Interactions – Sunshine state residents receive 50% off on all animal encounter programs including dolphin, seal, penguin, and reef encounters purchased by October 31st.
- Monster Splash Halloween Bash – returns to the park on October 28 & 29. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the park will feature trick-or-treating, inflatables, rides and more. Tickets can be purchased online for a 50% discount using the promo code “Monster.” As part of the weekend of Halloween fun, the park will feature harvest activities for the entire family to enjoy including a picture perfect Pumpkin Patch, Create A Scarecrow Zone, and Flipper’s Dance Party plus face painting and much more.
- Totally Teachers Weekend – returns to Miami Seaquarium on Saturday, October 28 and Sunday, October 29, 2017offering Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County teachers and school employees, in both private and public schools with proper school ID, free admission to Miami Seaquarium; plus a discount for up to four guests at 50 percent off of regular admission.
- Summer Savings Pass – For those guests who already have the Summer Savings Pass, usage of the pass at Miami Seaquarium has been extended until November 12.
- Miami Seaquarium Educational Programs – resume at the park to continue its mission of educating students of all ages about the wonders of marine life. The next educational program to be offered at the park with be a Day Camp onOctober 27. The Mommy & Me and Home School programs will resume in November.
