Get summer travel-ready with new MIA search engine

Just in time for summer vacations, travelers can now book their next flight to any of Miami International Airport’s 175 nonstop destinations and see all their airline options in just a few keyboard clicks with MIA Discover, the airport’s new 3D route map and destination guide.

Built by FlightPath3D, the online tool puts MIA’s vast global network in the palm of the user’s hands with interactive features that turn and swivel the globe for their destination of choice and then zoom in for tips and reviews about local attractions from travel experts. Selecting “See Destinations” in the pop-up box opens a detailed city map with virtual video tours. Users can share destinations and custom trip playlists with friends and family via email or by copying the link. MIA Discover’s travel calendar lets users select preferred dates, view available flights, and go to the airline’s booking portal.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava unveiled the new travel guide at the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau’s annual State of the Travel and Tourism Industry presentation on May 21 at PortMiami.

In the first quarter of 2024, MIA welcomed 14.9 million passengers, a massive 11.6 percent increase from 13.3 million travelers over the same period last year. International travel led the way with a 12 percent jump to 6.5 million passengers, while domestic travel grew 11.3 percent to 8.3 million passengers.
