MIA passengers can now check out books after check-in

Passengers flying out of Miami International Airport’s South Terminal can now trade in their old books for new ones or just grab one for free at the Books with an Altitude Library, a new book exchange program located between gates H5 and H7.

The library received an initial donation of 1,000 books from the Miami-Dade Public Library System in October, and travelers have been donating and “checking out” books since then to get a free read for their trip. The location holds up to 100 books daily. The Books with an Altitude Library is accessible to passengers in the post-security area of concourses H and J. Donations of children’s books are preferred but all are welcome. The idea for the library came from Miami-Dade County Commissioner Raquel A. Regalado, Vice Chairwoman of the County’s Airport and Economic Development Committee.
