American Airlines was recognized once again by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) with the highest rating in the prestigious 2021 Corporate Equity Index (CEI). American was the only airline to achieve a perfect score when CEI was launched in 2002, and it has also been the only airline to receive the perfect score every year since the recognition was created.
The CEI is a recognized indicator that evaluates the best workplaces in the United States and the inclusion of LGBTQ employees and their allies. Companies that, like American,
they get the maximum score of 100%, they are also named «Best Places to Work» in America.

The airline has a long history of supporting the LGBTQ community and was the first airline in the United States to protect members of the LGBTQ team, including gender identity and sexual orientation in non-discrimination policies in the workplace. To support advocacy initiatives in the LGBTQ community, including opposition to anti-LGBTQ laws at the federal and state levels, American focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive environment for its colleagues and clients.
