Gil Rémillard, IEFA’s Founding President, and Nicholas Rémillard, its President and CEO, are pleased to announce that Louis Lévesque has been appointed as Executive Vice-President of IEFA and as Director General of the Conference of Montréal.
Mr. Lévesque brings a great deal of experience to his new positions, having worked first in the Quebec civil service and then moving on to federal government positions. He was Associate Deputy Minister with Finance Canada (2004), Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Privy Council Office (2006), and Deputy Minister of International Trade (2008-2012). Canada’s G-20 Sherpa in 2010, then Deputy Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Mr. Lévesque occupied the latter position until his departure from the federal civil service in July 2015.
Mr. Lévesque has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Economics.

Mr. Lévesque will henceforth use his skills and leadership to help the IEFA develop its international activities, specifically the Conference of Montreal, the Toronto Global Forum and the World Strategic Forum.
